when I was young I had a lot of recurring dreams.. they were very geometric.. for example, vast, spaceless, pitch-black rooms, like space itself
simple dreams..

around middle school or early high school dreams got more "ordinary" and stopped recurring, and I don't really remember any dreams from this period.

lately I've started having recurring dreams again for the first time since elementary school, and they're of places I've never been to, with streets, and taverns, and such.... I'll pass by some spot and come back to it again later..

unlike the dreams of the recent past where I was merely running/escaping... I am now stuck where I am.. going in circles...

I would very much like to run away to switzerland or something ...

in high school I was always very puzzled with symmetry breaking in nature. some things we take for granted, such as human left-right brain and handedness. in physics there are also numerous cases of left-right symmetry breaking and these are harder to accept: they seem arbitrary.

but really the instinctive, mathematical love of symmetry is an error. the symmetries and fractals of nature are the chimeras. we should be puzzled when something is organized, not when it isn't. chaos is the true.

so if everything around you is shit, and life is shit, do not curse the stars for everything is as it should be. this is your place in the cosmos.

it's interesting to observe the way the hoi polloi's opinions change. when I read current events I usually don't really care much about the event and pay more attention to the comments.

comments are starting to shift from pro "civilian" protection to anti-western meddling. the new york times is also closing articles to comments very quickly now when sentiment isn't positive
